About me

Born in Worcestershire, grew up in Cornwall and now live in Cardiff. I’ve been with Carers Trust South East Wales since October 2018 as Growth and Business Development Manager. My role is focused on securing funding to develop the services we offer to carers – both existing and new. I have previously worked for organisations that support people with learning difficulties, substance misuse issues and homelessness, and feel this experience helps me to understand the varying needs of carers.

Supporting carers and people with care needs is something that appealed to me. Many unpaid carers receive little in the way of support, but Carers Trust South East Wales are always looking at innovative ways to support carers.

Carers Trust South East Wales is a charity that matches my own personal values. Working for an organisation that is innovative and forward thinking and that operates in an open and honest way is important to me.

What do you enjoy doing away from work?

Away from work I like to stick a backpack on and explore the world as much as I can. I am lucky enough to have been to 44 countries (and counting). When I am not doing that I spend most my time playing football for a team in Cardiff or dreaming of my next trip away.

Favourite food?

It changes daily depending on the last meal I ate! Right now I would say Indian food. Or Mexican. Or Thai. Maybe Italian.
