Sylvia Mason About me I was born and brought up in Cardiff and attended Lady Margaret High School. After graduating from Bristol University I taught English and Religious Studies in schools in Bristol and south Wales. My final position prior to retirement was at Abersychan School where, in addition to my teaching timetable, I was also a year head and the Examinations Officer. I was also president of the Gwent Branch of the Association of Teachers and Lecturers. For this I was trained in employment law and resolving disputes. What do you enjoy doing away from work? Since retiring I have volunteered for a number of organisations including Social Services, the Community Health Council and various women’s and local history groups. I am an active member of the Labour Party. Favourite food? I have no interest in food whatsoever. My husband does the shopping and cooking so I eat what I’m given.
