A wide-range of free mental health and wellbeing support is available to unpaid carers living in south east Wales this winter.

The Carers Winter Wellbeing scheme is available through Carers Trust South East Wales (CTSEW) and includes counselling sessions, wellbeing workshops and short courses – all aimed at boosting the mental health, wellbeing and resilience of unpaid carers through the winter months.

The sessions are available online to unpaid carers of all ages in Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Torfaen or The Vale of Glamorgan. The Carers Winter Wellbeing scheme is funded by Welsh Government via Carers Trust. Please be aware spaces are limited.

Free counselling sessions for carers

Sometimes it can be helpful to talk to someone. We can offer up to six free counselling sessions with a qualified counsellor to all carers living in south east Wales until the end of March 2021. Access to counselling will be subject to a brief assessment by a qualified counsellor. Counselling sessions can be done over the phone, by video call or face to face (where government guidelines allow)

Boxing and mindfulness

An online course over four sessions combining non-contact boxing training and mindfulness. Delivered by experienced mindfulness teachers and pro-boxing trainers, these innovative sessions are accessible for all ages and abilities and are designed to enhance physical and mental wellbeing in a dynamic and fun way.
