A group of young carers enjoyed an epic residential weekend break earlier this spring, with activities ranging from quad biking to cooking courses.

Accompanied staff from the Carers Trust South East Wales Young Carers team, the group spent three days at the Taff Valley activity centre, located just outside Cardiff.

Launched in 2002, the Young Carers service is mainly focused on giving young carers a break from their caring responsibility and improving the lives of young carers and their families. The Young Carers team run a number of residential breaks for young carers every year that focus on helping young carers in a range of ways - from reducing social isolation through to developing new skills.
