The Bridgend carers wellbeing service provides information, advice and practical assistance to unpaid carers in Bridgend.

The service is focused on improving wellbeing by helping carers to make the most of their life alongside their caring role and maintain their independence. Staff work to understand the needs of local carers and ensure carers have the chance to undertake a carers assessment.

The team work with local organisations and groups to help carers with things like:

  • Building emotional resilience
  • Maintaining physical and mental health
  • Accessing education, training and employment
  • Building and developing relationships with family
  • Understanding and applying for benefits and entitlements
  • Improving financial situations
  • Housing and living arrangements
  • Emergency carers ID cards

The carers’ wellbeing team work to identify and support new and existing carers in Bridgend and to build communities that are carer friendly. They also run a Carers Emergency Card scheme to ensure the safety of people with care needs in an emergency.

The service works with partner organisations across Bridgend to ensure carers in the borough get the best possible support and is delivered from community venues across Bridgend County Borough. You can find out where we are and when by downloading our quarterly schedule below.
