Grants

PLEASE NOTE: The information on this page is for our small grants scheme NOT the Carers Support Fund.

Apply for a grant from the Carers Support Fund

Small grants

Our small grants scheme provides vital financial support to unpaid carers of all ages. The scheme gives carers the chance to apply for funding for something that will benefit them in their caring role – such as a new washing machine or a holiday. The small grants scheme is open to carers living in Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Monmouthshire, Newport and Torfaen and is administered by CTSEW on behalf of the Gwent Carers Strategic Partnership.

Please note: From December 2020 to April 2021 grants for the Carers Access and Carers Skills elements of the grants scheme (highlighted below) are currently open. Grants for Carers Essentials and Carers Time Out are being processed via the Carers Support Fund

People can apply for a small grant from one of four specific areas:

Carers essentials

Carers can apply for up to £300 towards the cost of one piece of household equipment that will benefit them in their caring role.

Carers time out

Up to £500 is available for people to take a break from their caring role, including replacement care.

Carers access

Carers can apply for up to £500 to cover the costs of driving lessons or other transport costs that will benefit carers in their caring role.

Carers skills

People can apply for funding of up to £500 to help them develop new skills that will help them get into work, develop an interest outside of caring, or with training in support of their caring role.
