CTSEW Receives Volunteer Boost

Carers Trust South East Wales (CTSEW) has been awarded funding to develop a new organisation-wide volunteer programme.

Volunteers will be recruited to assist with all areas of the charity’s work supporting unpaid carers and people with care needs across south east Wales.

In total CTSEW has been awarded £61,027 from the WCVA Voluntary Services Recovery Fund to increase in the number of volunteers across the organisation.

Carers have been disproportionately affected by the pandemic and this money will help meet the increased demand for carers support across south east Wales.

The initiative builds on CTSEW’s successful Gwent Carers Online service which is run by fully trained volunteers. Gwent Carers Online matches unpaid carers with volunteers to help carers get to grips with new digital tools like Zoom and Smart Speakers, enabling people to make the most of digital technology during the pandemic.

Volunteer opportunities will be advertised on Volunteering Wales, our website and social media channels soon.
